It does seem a little bit like they just turned down the contrast slider on liberty falls. The UI updates look clean tho

Oh that HUD looks CLEAN. Treyarch cooked here.

HUD is still looking like it’s Warzone, didn’t expect that to change much anyway

Edit: The character portrait makes it feel more unique, and I’m happy that they’ve fixed the perk icons, but the ammo count and how small and lifeless the points are (looking like WZ), deserve a change, too.

Finally this sub will stop the endless bitching about the HUD

    Major Augment for Juggernog:

“Armor acts as a shield on your back, completely absorbing damage to your back. No damage mitigation to the front” COOKING

The augments look great! I think it’s a good sign that I can’t pick a favorite major augment from most perks.

So it seems like you will be able to choose any operator, but are encouraged to play as the crew for an “enhanced story experience?” How will this work if random teammates don’t choose other crew members? Will certain conversations just not happen?

Woah Liberty falls is like a whole new map with those updates the map is saved… (sarcasm, sad sarcasm)

  9. Augments are exactly what I was expecting, in a good way. Really could use a time machine that skips forward a week.

HYD looks a lot cleaner, and they’ve removed the awkward perk spacing.

I’m really digging the moodier Liberty Falls. It brings it more in-line with *feeling* like a zombies map, but isn’t such a drastic change to take away from the core identity of *Small American town hit by an almost instant apocalypse.*

Can October 25 hurry the fuck up please?

I’m so excited for augments. I’m hopeful they’ll be much easier to sprinkle throughout a season to provide what amounts to new perks without needing to pull the art team into designing a can, a machine, a jingle and all of that. Stuff like PHD letting you ram into zombies to knock them down or Quick Revive basically morphing into Dying Wish means there’s a lot of room there for expanding beyond the original perk beyond just simple ‘number go up’ changes, and that has me very hopeful. Too much of Cold War’s permanent progression essentially just boosted numbers (i.e., wow i get 20% more health from jugg? wow i do 50% more damage to weak spots? wow i do 20% more damage with shotguns?), and focusing more on letting you switch up functionality is WAY more interesting, IMO. Kind of bummed Kazimirs are equippable from the start, though. I actually don’t really care about loadouts as long as weapon rarities have a meaningful impact on your damage (and as such reducing your spawn weapon to the equivalent of an 1911 in previous games past round 5) so wallbuys and the box are still relevant, but spawning with a Gersh seems pretty excessive.

I actually love the flexibility and trade offs of the augments, a really good alternative to just straight upgrades in Cold War and i actually feel like i’ll swap them around jsut to keep things fresh so that’ll be good. HUD isn’t as big a change as i hoped but i prefer how it looks and atleast i can see portrait now. And i find it funny that Liberty Falls is more of a colour shift overall but… i think it actually does a lot for me on those screenshots but i’ll have to wait and see for myself. Overall happy with what this blog has shown us, really hoping to enjoy the game cause i like how this all sounds.
