It is the best, most emotional ending and I will die on that hill. Not only Reeds path is genuinely better, cause you get to learn about Songbirds past you also get to piss of Myers. Head cannon right there. What’s your opinion?
What exactly from her past do you learn that you don’t know prior picking said route? You learn even before that So Mi was “recruited” into the FIA, that she stumbled on Militech datafort, that Reed “knocked on her door”, that she had friends in Brooklyn and cherished said moments, that she got stripped of her body and doesn’t feel comfortable about, and more. All these details are revealed before Firestarter even happens, and if you haven’t paid attention, Reed’s path purpose is to shove those details in your face as a consequence of not paying attention.
As for pissing off Myers – you don’t do much to piss her off as you think. Not only do you deliver Songbird’s Blackwall infused body back to her, you also give her the neural matrix that houses a rogue AI in it, give her back access to Cynosure, allow her to get access to key players in NC and Dogtown, help her keep all her secrets under wraps, and help her advance her Militech human-AI hybrid project per No_Coincidence novel by delivering back So Mi’s body. If you think you pissed her off, you’re being very ignorant. Only in Wands do you completely ruin her.
What’s so much “better” about this ending besides misery? You get two people killed who wanted to be free [So Mi and Alex] and give “freedom” to a person who didn’t want to be free and could’ve left at any point [Reed]. Is it worth it?

You really piss off Myers, by giving her post-Blackwall AI on Neural Matrix and Songbird’s dead body so she can pull secrets of her inner working. /s
For that you get nothing or some insulting 5k eddies. On top of that you need to side with CIA,
Good job failing.

Nah. I prefer to piss her off by making her watch the space shuttle take off into orbit.
If you were familiar with Militech’s hybrid lore and paid attention to what Reed tells you after Cups you would understand that she doesn’t truly lose. It’s just not her ideal outcome

Agree with you. Yes the send Song to space mission feels nicer on the surface of it but a) a lot of innocent people get killed at the spaceport and b) we don’t really know what happens to Song. You get the Quantum Tuner and a cryptic message but we don’t know for sure that she sent it. She was already almost dead when you put her in the rocket, and even if she survived, she herself said she’d probably end up being a lab rat. I somehow doubt she’s frolicking around the Moon with Lucy from Edgerunners like some people seem to want.
This is Cyberpunk – there are no good endings.

On paper it’s the best ending but in reality it isn’t. I did the moon one first, then did all of them after. As sad that it is that Reed dies, he is a shell of a man. He is completely trapped by his ideals & self imposed responsibility. Killing him is kind of freeing him. He says himself at the bar, he feels like he never fully came back from dying 7 years prior. So Mi’s condition once she reaches the moon is uncertain.. but it’s almost irrelevant. The point is that by helping her out you’re honoring your own condition you find yourself in. Despite her betraying you.. she also is in the same situation you’re in.
I think King of Cups and the other one that has So Mi stay alive are the two saddest endings. Alex dies. So Mi is turned into essentially a zombie used by the government. Reed stays trapped in his feedback loop of trying to take responsibility for everyone and his “ideals”. And depending on how you finish the game, V loses everything they know.
It’s very typical Cyberpunk writing. The ideal ending ends up being the “worst” one

I agree Reed path is better, not learning what exactly is Cynosure and its history is a huge L on Songbird path.
I sent her to Myers tho. I know it’s not good for the world but damn, my V went through shit with Myers and to my V, it counts (seriously, she was such a badass to face down the Chimera with V its hard to hate her!) PLUS she keeps her word and cures V.
Nah. I went for the tower ending. She knows that you and her are in the same predicament. She betrays you and selfishly chooses herself over you. Two can play that game.

As a gaming experience, I definitely think this path is better. You get more content and more depth to the characters.
But I still prefer to let Songbird have her way and get to the moon, if only to spite Myers (I didn’t like that i had to kill Reed too, but i guess you can never have a true happy ending in Night City). Also, this way you can go for the other endings in Op55N1.

Reeds path is by far the best from a gameplay perspective and imo from a story perspective too (as long as you kill songbird in the end)

I agree this is definitely the most fitting ending and I always pick it, most content and you still “help” songbird escape FIA and Myers.
