Wow this game brings back nostalgic memories of when I played Resident Evil 1/2 . I never got into the silent hill games (but enjoyed the movie) I did check out the remake of SH2 it's a great looking game but doesn't hold my interest.
Right from the start however Alone in the Dark pulled me in, the settings story and characters are Canon. I missed out on the original game in 1992 so had no idea what to expect.. going in blind was i blown away how similar it felt to one of my favorite survival horror games made. This game was an unexpected surprise and I would love to see another game released.

I really enjoyed my time with the game but the story kinda starts going down hill halfway through. Still enjoyable but it felt like content was cut somewhere along the way leaving us with some weird story moments.
Still a solid game but it could have been so much more.
If you liked the new AitD, I would recommend The Chant as something similar. Really made me feel like I was a twenty-something who’d talked herself into going into a woo-filled holistic retreat and ended up summoning the devil.
