I’m a complete noob to these things, I don’t want to overclock, I just wanted to know if this score (36289) is good for the i9-14900K or if it’s way below normal. I’m using Intel’s default settings, with the latest microcode 0x12B.

  1. If everything is stock that’s normal. You can undervolt and limit x60 boost of 2 cores to x57, which is 100% stable, and scores 37k-39k on r23. There are many guides on buildzoid’s youtube channel how to do it properly. Type either “buildzoid” or “actually hardware overclocking”

I just did a run in CBR23 and this is what I get: [https://imgur.com/BzXs57Q](https://imgur.com/BzXs57Q) Also if you have loads of background processes, it will knock off 2-3k off your score, iCue for one is a big culprit.

It’s amazing how small the difference is with the mobile counterpart (13980hx) I’ve been getting 33k at 150w sustained

  4. It’s on the low end, about 6K points behind what you’d get by running fully sustained 5.7/4.3 GHz boost clocks. However, with the aggressive boost limits in place thanks to recent BIOS updates you will probably struggle to sustain that kind of performance in Cinebench
