Microsoft saw Rare release 1 game the past 10 years(successful now, but disastrous on release), they saw Rare lose most of the devs that made Rare beloved by many, saw Rare go through development hell with Everwild with loss of many talented people along the way.
and… they just decided to put him in charge of xbox studios, who is currently struggling with awful release schedule, many games in development hell and loss of talent across all their studios.
i really don’t understand, it’s Bonnie Ross all over again. do an awful job and just move up the ladder.

This isn’t good. Sea of Thieves is in a disastrous state right now with cheaters and hackers, with rare outright lying about having fixed it (the yellow word fiasco).
Worse yet, their community managers are stifling and banning any feedback on this topic, as well as any community feedback that doesn’t align with their views and desires. It’s like they’ve put on blinders.
If even a fraction of this Carrie’s over to XGS as a whole, this will end poorly.

Rare isn’t even Rare anymore. How many of their staff do they even still have from when they were a notable studio? They’ve barely put out any games for years even.
Their downturn in quality basically immediately coincided with their acquisition by Microsoft

People really need to start realizing that just because someone works for a famous company, it doesn’t mean they were there when their most successful products were made, and most likely have zero attachment or love for those products anyway outside of PR talk.
