Anyone keeps their physical media for sentimental reason?
Anyone still has the AOL online CDsđ? I still have a couple 3.5 inch floppy disc and one or two 5.25 inch are probably buried somewhere in the basement or in the old house haha
I’ve lost a lot of mine to time and flood damage but I keep some of my old game discs around. Diablo 1 and Hellfire expansion, Grim Fandango, GTA 1 Director’s cut and a few others.

Yup. I have a storage unit, climate controlled, that I use. Its very well organized, and I don’t have a lot of stuff in there, but its something I thought about having just in case society resets, or has a catastrophe, it might become helpful. I have some physical media in there, and hardware as well too. I only put stuff in there that can get a computer up and running. Much of it is my dead computer parts though, but I figure I might find someone that can fix the stuff.

Yes i have so much ewaste just stacked up in boxes. I’ve thrown out a lot of ancient cables that dont even exist anymore and hard disks not too long ago because they’re heavy and take up a lot of space but cds are easy enough to stockpile.

As for my disks, I’m m planning on backing them up as I don’t want to risk disk rot.

God no. Totally in the process of cleaning up after a packrat that found multiple office 2003, and quickbooks 2004 and like idrac 1 lol discs worthy of keeping.
