If I wanted motion blur I would cap my FPS to 60

  2. Specific-Creme5413

HDR, I like to not strain my eyes! And make sure my console doesn’t have a stroke.

  3. Bloom can go too, it’s a pointless system that is a bloat on computing resources.

  4. Exciting_Swordfish16

The only setting I always turn off is motion blur.

  5. Gullible-Winter-6879

anti-aliasing and post-processing can look really bad in some games.

  6. Imsimon1236

never cared for bloom myself. TES IV Oblivion overuse ruined it for me.

  7. BoozerBean

Idgaf about any of this. I push button, gun goes pew-pew, sword goes clank-clank. Game fun

Depth of Field is the worst. It breaks down as soon as you try to look at the wrong spot on the screen. And often lags behind aiming down sights or other rapid changes to the camera.

  9. VenandiSicarius

I don’t even know what over half of them do, if anything

For me, I ALWAYS turn off Motion Blur!

I was playing Shin Megami Tensei V:Vengeance on Switch and out of boredom I decided to turn it on even though I never liked it. And yup, I immediately remembered why I always turn it off in all of my games whenever it’s possible. I get SUPER disoriented in an instant! Turned it off immediately.

Don’t know why I did that to myself, but again, I was bored, so…

No, anything that makes it look like a camera instead of eyes then it’s off for me

  12. AjCheeze

I used to turn off v-sync on everything. Got new set up and kinda found i needed to turn it back on for some games.

  13. I almost always turn off motion blur. At best it’s too limited to make a visible difference, at worst it makes a very large difference and it literally makes me nauseous.

Motion blur gets disabled the moment I get into an options menu. It makes me feel sick and makes things hard to see in motion.

Beyond that some settings get tweaked depending on performance. RT is the first setting to go if performance cannot be get to an acceptable level. Variable rate shading gets turned on if the game runs smoothly enough. FSR native AA (that’s FSR without upscaling) is something I’ll always prefer over TAA in gams if it is an option. TAA for some reason always looked really soft to me in a lot of games. Except for Doom Eternal, where it’s crisp as heck.

i modded chromatic aberation out of elden ring. No option to turn that crap off

  16. Edgaras1103

I gien everything on. I adore film grain

  17. AncientStaff6602

Chromatic abbreviation is the ugliest shite ever.. right next to motion blur

  18. Patient-Ad7291

Motion blur is always a must. Especially when you have to be quick with ur sight/aim.Even for games like God of war, I prefer to keep that off.shading goes off when I am playing a game my laptop can’t handle very well.

  19. I_Love_Jank

I understand why all those are here except variable rate shading, it’s fundamentally different from all these other postprocess effects.

Presuming it’s a good VRS implementation, it’s going to be a big performance boost for not much visual downgrade if you keep it on.

  20. Tyrest_Accord

I usually leave the visual setting alone but vibration and adaptive triggers on the PS5 are turned off immediately if I can.

Rare exceptions can be made if I find out that it actually serves a purpose like for instance vibrating when near a hidden collectible or something.

  21. SweetPuffDaddy

I’ll probably get downvoted for this, but I honestly like motion blur in some games. Camera motion blur is almost always bad, but I genuinely like per object motion blur in games like Doom and Spider-Man.

  22. _KyleCrane

People who turn off depth of field got no brains

  23. SuspiciousRent6622

I am actually curious. Is there anyone who actually likes motion blur?

  24. type_clint

I don’t have any setting I immediately turn off without considering how it looks on and off.

  25. InstrumentalCore

    Motion Blur Off
    Bloom Off
    Vsync Off

  26. leomnidus

Always turn off screen shake. I’ve played games with it on that use explosions and im tired of my camera involuntarily being yanked around like a chandelier in a Sia song

  27. Interjessing-Salary

Bloom and lens flare are all I usually leave on. And even those aren’t always. lens flare is mostly left on in story rich games such as The last of Us. Otherwise I turn it off. I like bloom when it would make something look nicer like in DRG some of your outfits glow when it’s on.

  28. FlyingVMoth

Valheim, turn off vegetation when mushroom picking
