This is more of an issue on release than it is later on. Halfway through the irl season these games are usually added to gamepass or PS+ so they can attract more potential mtx customers.

The price of NBA 2K games seems to be stuck in a time warp! If they keep charging the same price, they might start losing players to free-to-play basketball games.
