Oh dang I’m pretty sure I had the same case for my GBA SP. Seems kinda wild that two gamecube games cost as much as the system itself, though I guess this is pretty late in its life if the DS is coming out shortly.

When the Nintendo DS was about to launch, Nintendo initially claim the DS will not be a replacement for the GameBoy line. They didnt even want to call the DS a GameBoy as they fear the DS might flop.
Had Nintendo marketed the DS as the next generation Gameboy by calling it the Gameboy DS, we would have seen its successor being called as Gameboy 3DS and the Switch might have been known as the Gameboy Switch.
