    Original:

Sure, you’ve got stickers and nametags and hundreds of weapon finishes, but do you have something that dangles? You do now! “I bet I can only put it in one place,” you say. Well you’re dead wrong! You can put them anywhere you want. (As long as where you want to put them is on your gun.)

    German:

Gewiss, Sie besitzen Aufkleber, Namensschilder und Hunderte von Waffenlackierungen, aber haben Sie auch etwas, das umherbaumelt? Jetzt schon! „Ich wette, den kann ich nur an einer Stelle anbringen“, murmeln Sie. Nun, da liegen Sie völlig falsch! Sie können die Anhänger anbringen, wo immer Sie möchten. (Vorausgesetzt, Sie wollen sie an einer Ihrer Waffen anbringen.)

i dont have a problem with 1:1 translations but this was either done via google translate or ai translation. the classic “you” is translated into a polite form of “Sie”.

I speak German, but I prefer to keep all my games set to English by default. German translations always sound a bit weird.

My AI detector says that there is a 38% probability that this was AI generated.

They even used the word „Gewiss“. That is a word that you only find in Goethe‘s or Schiller‘s poetic works

    “Gewiss, Sie besitzen Aufkleber…” 😀 100% AI

  5. Probably? Why does it matter if you can read it?

  6. I don’t speak german but I do speak french, so you made me wonder if the french translation gave me AI vibes and it does. There are some basic mistranslations and it’s just overall written in a pretty weird way that doesn’t totally make sense grammar-wise.

  7. Italian also has its problems.
But “latin spanish” is a huge disaster.

    I’m playing in english anyway.

  8. For how often this game has received translation updates over the last decade, I doubt they are doing AI translations.

  9. I don’t know about translations but in CS2 trailers there were some AI-generated pictures

That’s not a good look for valve as a whole if it’s true. Especially since valve is against AI generated content on their steam page. They have banned games who use AI generated content.

  11. Welcome to 2024 internet its full of AI, even youtube shorts are full of AI content, sick of clicking on “Don’t recommend this channel” every second short is AI…
