i dont have a problem with 1:1 translations but this was either done via google translate or ai translation. the classic “you” is translated into a polite form of “Sie”.

I speak German, but I prefer to keep all my games set to English by default. German translations always sound a bit weird.

I don’t speak german but I do speak french, so you made me wonder if the french translation gave me AI vibes and it does. There are some basic mistranslations and it’s just overall written in a pretty weird way that doesn’t totally make sense grammar-wise.

For how often this game has received translation updates over the last decade, I doubt they are doing AI translations.

That’s not a good look for valve as a whole if it’s true. Especially since valve is against AI generated content on their steam page. They have banned games who use AI generated content.
