I know economic differences between countries and the strength of currency can make this mean not as much, but it’s weird seeing a starting FromSoft salary be substantially less than I make a month for a normal customer support job.
Glad to see they’re at least trying to bring things more in line with other companies offering a little better pay.

It should be more. Not only are their games super polished when compared to your average AA/AAA title, but they have by far the best artists in the industry. Shadow of the Erdtree, artistically, looks insane. Like god damn, bruh.

What a silly, they should layoff people like the others do, didn’t they know

From software is the only company I will still preorder from. Their quality is consistent and I like that.
Fit_Ad9106
what was the average salary increase in the last 10 years at FromSoftware?

Rewarding work environment? Here in the west we lay-off hard workers and give huge bonuses to CEOs.

Yeah but there’s still a poison swamp in the break room

I work at a company with something similar, I worked hard and got rewarded for it without asking for more, guess what that results in? me feeling more motivated and energized to make the company successful. It doesnt take a genius to understand something like this yet few does.

Eeeeh, they still have a horrific crunch environment and were paying shit wages. This probably just brings them up to something approaching decent.
Can have all the money in the world but if you’re burnt out it won’t be worth anything.

well that is a nice sentiment. Fromsoft continuing to be the gaming community darling

Other companies: Lays off 20% of creatives, gives executives additional millions and churns out bomb after bomb
Employees: loyalty, efficiency and output goes down
Other companies: Why has covid done this?

I guess one needs to ask when the last cost of living increase was enacted there and how much? THey are probably just playing catch up. So many thing to think consider before deciding if they are great employers or just painting over cracked foundations.

This money should have gone to the shareholders or as a bonus for the CEO. /s

* The Elden Ring developer will also increase the starting salary for new graduates from ¥260,000 ($1,775) to ¥300,000 ($2,050) per month.
