  1. They claming star wars outlaws was a solid game is a bit of a stretch.

  2. Well, i hate ubisoft just as much as the next guy but heres the actual quote:

    > In today’s challenging market and with gamers expecting extraordinary experiences, delivering solid quality is no longer enough.

Doesnt seem even close to what that clickbait title is suggesting. Sounds more like hes saying they need to step up their game.

Ubisoft has a bit of a reputation for turning out perfectly serviceable but not great games, the issue with taking on an IP like star wars AND making an RPG where the standards are so high these days – simply “solid” was never going to be considered good enough.

  4. Meshugga4

I’m guilty, and I’ll continue to bear it shamelessly in the future.

You know what you’re getting with an Ubisoft game. That’s been a strength for years, good ol’ dependable Assassin’s Creed. But they’ve had this problem where the industry has advanced around them, but they haven’t moved much. Assassin’s Creed 2 was an outstanding open world when the only companies doing single player open worlds were Ubisoft, Rockstar, and Bethesda. In a world where AAA games are open worlds by default, well…you know what you’re getting with an Ubisoft game, and that’s not nearly as impressive as it used to be.

Getting mad at gamers because their games are copy and pasted piles of dog shit.

I’d absolutely love it if Ubisoft went bankrupt. Please make it happen.

  7. Who says what they’ve been delivering is quality though? This guy definitely inhales his own farts.

  8. trito_jean

so ubi ceo says we need to make better game cause gamer wants better game than just good and game journalist find a way to turn it into blaming gamer for not buying

  9. so broken buggy mess along with ridiculous pricing is what passes as solid quality gaming experience now, well gamers are right in ignoring their drivel and slop

  10. Demonitized-picture

“delivering solid experiences is no longer enough”

you’re asking people to spend 80-130 dollars of their hard earned money for something mid and that they know will be 50% off at some point, no shit it’s doing poorly

  11. Anonasty

Well yes, but no. The Star Wars Outlaws was still below average.

  12. SirDaveWolf

„I am going to sell my shit on e-bay!“

„Why is no one buying my shit?! Stupid people…“

  13. John_Doe_MCMXC

On a scale of 1 to Ubisoft, how out of touch are you?

  14. ngpropman

Customer is always right in matters of taste.

  15. chrisebryan

Supply and demand. You make an uninteresting/ mid or a shit game, who’s going to buy it apart from selected few? As with other games and game studios, this is not Ubisoft unique.

  16. Elegant_Spot_3486

His actual quote is accurate. The headline is clickbait.

  17. RentonZero

I read that as they are to blame and thought they took accountability for a moment then

  18. I’ve been wishing for Ubisoft’s demise for 8 years and it’s glorious to see them finally scrambling.

  19. Well he’s french. It’s never their fault and always complaining.

  20. AAA games aren’t supposed to be solid they’re supposed to be next level! They’re muddling themselves with AA or even indie developers!

  21. CandusManus

“We keep making games that our customer base tells us they don’t want, but it’s their fault for not wanting them not our fault for ignoring years of warnings”.

You can not make a game that performs poorly, with a character no one wants, with gameplay that is worse than GOTY 2010, and then be shocked that no one wants it. That’s madness.

  22. Anubis17_76

Ubisoft dev: our games are doing poorly, maybe make better games?
Management: nah lets just call them quadruple A and blame consumers

  23. OtterLLC

Headline is clickbait and misleading. And yet here I am clicking and commenting.

  24. Wiikneeboy

I’m opposed to using a game launcher that I have to login to that ubisuck uses. Plus their games suck these days.

  25. Queasy_Profit_9246

I can’t even uninstall the 1 Ubisoft title I have installed because I cannot login to the launcher….. I literally see Ubisoft and go, oh, I cannot play that because I am not going through that again.

  26. kron123456789

His definition of “extraordinary expectations” is quite different from what gamers actually expect. There was nothing extraordinary in Space Marine 2, but it was a fun game anyway. And people liked it.

  27. d33zNutz87

You selling a product to me.

    A gamer.

    You blaming me?

    For not liking your product?

Lmfao. Get bent. We aint gotta conSOOM your 💩

  28. He is right, gamers ARE to blame for poor sales. We just don’t buy shitty games.

If you think your games are solid but gamers disagree, that’s YOUR problem to solve.
