Either your documents folder get spammed into uselessness, or you’ll never find your game files.
That’s (one of) the issues with windows.

No, game saves go in the game’s folder. Keep save files out of my profile or my documents!

I like it stored either in the game files or in a designated spot that I pick (the latter for modded Minecraft instances) so if I ever had to do a clean install all wouldn’t be lost.

I can definitely feel how annoying it is, but I’ve also abandoned this fight as the push to make Windows more secure is more important overall. Saving everything in program files was definitely easier back when everything was running as administrator, though. Or rather, before there were any permissions to speak of and that was just the default.
