Nothing wrong with just wanting get into the gameplay

That’s one reason I have a hard time getting into RPGs.

I just started Divinity 2… I kinda feel this.

Still the reason I haven’t fully started Triangle Strategy yet

Why games like Inside or Ico are so great. The “story” is only implied and done so exclusively during gameplay. I guess Ico did have 2-3 very brief cutscenes but still. And yet Ico manages to achieve way more emotional impact.

Triangle Strategy does a great job of streamlining it and allowing the exposition to break up comfortably between chapters.

I refuse to start a new RPG unless it’s my day off and I can commit at least 3 hours to it. After that I’m usually fine to sink 1 to 2 hours whenever I game but I find I usually need at least 3 to start.

I just go and play Warhammer 40K Dawn of War. The first 30 hours were just to get through the list of all the stuff you can pick when you advance your character.
The second 30h is to figure out the right path that makes this character viable all the time.
And then you have to retrain everyone anyway and start over again.
