First time overclocking

Got a brand new zotac rtx 4070 super, however, performance is not what I was expecting.
Tried RDD2 at 1080p with stock settings and the performance was fine but I felt it could be better, so I followed some "optimization settings" guide on youtube and changed some of the nvidia control panel settings and performance got worse
So I switched back to the default settings but performance was not the same, so I was wonderring if overclocking my gpu will improve performace, or if somebody has a recommendation I will appreciate it.

ryzen 7 5700x

This is how I do it I have plenty of thermal headroom obviously bad stuff can happen if you aren’t careful

I have no experience with 4070 super so I’m not sure what the cooling is like on this card. Do a benchmark run with Gpu Z to see sensors and temp at stock settings, if temp is too high try undervolting. If your temp stays low raise power limit to max and run again, then raise memory speed 100mhz each time until you get artifacts then drop 50mhz until it’s stable. Then raise core frequency about 25mhz each run. Then fine tune all your settings until Noise, temp and performance are where you’re comfortable.
