    Things we don’t know:

    – how widespread this is or if it’s even Valve policy right now

    – if there’s a purchase date limit

    – if Windows users are allowed to do this *(the game works, but some people reject kernel access like Vanguard and Cloudstrike on privacy/safety concerns)*

I’m on Linux, I haven’t played GTA in a while but I’d rather keep it in my library in case I decide to dual boot or share it with family sharing.

Credit where credit is due. Good to see they’re honoring refunds. Would have been very easy to say no sorry your on your own see ya.

Maybe this will fix the rampant hackers in GTA V PC. I kind of respect them fighting to keep their multiplayer alive at this point when community server gameplay has gotten massive, it hurts to see a game die. I really do not like the solution, but also kernel level anticheat on linux I would prefer not be proprietary software, I get the appeal of gaming on linux but I use windows and linux, and like having peace of mind on linux I have full control and privacy on my system and it should work the way I want. Rockstar should come up with a better solution, I agree. Valve is awesome for offering refunds to people who want one.

While this is a good thing, all of these are putting it wrong, GTA Online doesn’t work, I know it’s with 5 but from everything I understand the main story is still playable which is still probably 100s of hours of playtime still. Get refunds if you want but it’s still playable just marked unplayable.
