I love V's character. He is one of the best character I ever played next to Arthur Morgan of RDR2. But even so, I'm one of the people who would rather have a new MC than the return of V. He can have a cameo depending on what ending did the player gets, I would love that. But if I have to play V without Johnny, it won't feel complete. Johnny has been a huge part of V, his character development and wisdoms came because of Johnny. And they are a Duo for me.
A new playable MC rather than the return of V is much safer since Cyberpunk Orion will have a Multiplayer elements there. It would be funny to see a bunch of V running amock in NC destroying every gang lmao.

We don’t know for a fact that Orion will have multiplayer. And I’d much rather have a new protagonist, but similar in concept to 2077 in that the male and female options are the same character, just with a different but similar first name, like Vincent and Valerie.
V isnt going to be the protagonist because that would make one of the endings canon and they didnt wanna do that because its up to you which ending you wanna do

And V is the best character without clearly background, he’s own thoughts, V is weak MC, all the game was on Johnny, but not V.

i think the sun ending indicates towards the next game being helmed by V, of course they could have changed their minds since, but i feel it’s likemy we will see V again (also i think it’s likely they will just have the sun ending as the cannon one)
I’d rather see something new. New character’s, new city, and if possible new perspectives.
Like actually being a Corpo climbing the ladder, an actual nomad living outside or a cop (with maybe a Maxtac promotion).

I would kinda love it if you played as Johnny in V’s body and the whole plot centers around getting V back in their meat suit.
Or vice versa and Johnny just lives forever in the chip or a new body/clone of himself.
But a new story is good too because every ending in 2077 felt right to me in their own way, even the suicide one.
New Protagonist. V’s Story is told and a new MC would fit NC’s theme of chewing up and spitting out people better.
Nobody ever said Orion would be multiplayer… and if it is then it will be a function outside of the main game (I hope… multiplayer would be a disaster and destroy the personal nature of the story.)
And as far as V… I’d be ok with a mention about their condition after the events of 2077… (if they found a cure with the Aldecadosor not) but totally hoping we get a new protagonist. I’d also love to see Orion take place a good 50 years after the events of 2077… maybe we can get a Spinner like Blade Runner.

I am sorry, why is V even considered for a new Cyberpunk game? Sorry but he can be an NPC, background news (if it happens on the same time) or just lore.
V’s a legend of the Afterlife. They made their mark, and like Morgan Blackhand, disappeared. People have stories about V; some talk about knowing them, personally. And as Rogue says in the ending I hate, people seeing who V is now can only ruin the legend.
I want to see a new MC, someone who doesn’t have a Relic in their head, looking for a cure. There’s other stories in Night City to be told.
The compulsion to shoehorn every previous popular character and protagonist into every subsequent entry in a franchise is what is killing entertainment in all mediums imo. The Mac does not have to return. It was not all a dream. R2 doesn’t have to be in every Star Wars. Please, invent a new type of guy, or girl, or other, idc.
After the first game, I think V’s story has ended, they’ve done their part so to speak so I think a new MC would be cool
Depending on where its set, some hints or nods at V’s legend would be cool – could also import your save so your choices impact lines
I think it would be cool if we got someone knew and v was Like a myth people don’t know if real or false. Maybe a few shards hinting to him/her or like a few npc dialogue.
Would prefer a new main character in order to leave the ending open for V, personally. I’d like the story to involve Morgan Blackhand in some way if possible!
I kinda hope they give us more of a blank slate character in the sequel. Take an approach similar to alot of RPGs, let us decide the name of our character, give us a title instead. Let us have more in depth customization and ways to see this character come alive.
I am still one of the players hoping they give us third person in the next game. But I fully get if they don’t. I just really want it for world exploration, combat (not story) and because I hated how photo mode does not actually use your in-game gameplay, but rather predefined poses.
I’d rather something new than playing as V/Johnny again. As far as I’m concerned their stories are done.

I feel they work a lot better when it’s the same character dealing, with the consequences with the choices they made than some other rando.
I’d rather this series be like Mass Effect and Witcher rather than Dragon Age.
