They never make system which looks 95% like the previous one. The GameCube didn’t look anything like the SNES, the Wii didn’t look anything like the GameCube, etc.. The idea that the switch tool will look exactly like this current switch not something I believe

Maybe the Switch will become what Xbox is to Microsoft and PlayStation is to Sony. Why change a winning formula, Switch but improved rather than doing goofy stuff when you are in the lead, keep the brand name and marketing of the best selling console of the last generation.

The image of the two different sized screens leads me to believe there may be a cheaper model that is a smaller screen and compatitable with the Switch 1 joycons as it looks like it still has the slide ports for the OG joycons where as the larger screen has ports for the new magnetized joycons

If the Switch had a few more decent FPS titles I’d be all over it. I love a lot of the platformers but the library is too kid friendly for me. And I love Astro bot.
