Call of Duty: Zombies

Looking back, it feels like Zielinkski isn’t given enough credit. When people are reminiscing on zombies and how each map used to be so unique, its his maps that they talk about

All I’m seeing is Blundell going on an unreal run

  2. MonsterHunter6353

Didn’t blundell make all the bo4 maps as well?

  3. Icy-Weight1803

Why ain’t Kino, Die Rise and Buried mentioned on Zielinski’s portfolio?

Both are good and make the rest of the zombies experience after them feel like a warzone reskin for people that don’t like zombies. I wouldn’t talk shit on either of them as Blundell and Jimmy both shit on CW zombies and beyond.

I will always stand on business, Jimmy Zielinski>Blundell and imo the best zombies director ever.

The creativity in his maps are unmatched, the gameplay first, story second is why I always loved his maps

  6. MrRedRice

they both made unique and innovative maps without straying too far from the source material

  7. godlywhistler

He laid the foundation but Blundell perfected it imo. Some of those are pretty innovative though like Moon and TranZit(for better or worse)

I agree. He’s doing his best in Ukraine, people need to lay off

Best example of their differences is Classified. Five has the Pentagon Thief, a very unique type of enemy with unique rewards, randomized teleporters immediately activated upon Power. Very unique dynamics at play, differs it from other maps.

On Classified, the Pentagon Thief is replaced by dogs, you have to build the teleporters (same boring, unnecessary busy work), and theyre not even randomized, they tell you exactly where to go.

Classified… more like Gentrified, amiright? Those are basically my thoughts when comparing the two

I am fan of Bo3 but Blundell has cursed the maps to a functional but ultimately boring existence for what seems like will be the rest of eternity.

Why include all of Zielinski’s maps but not Blundell? You’re missing 8 maps.

Honestly, if you look at both of their portfolio’s critically they both had really solid runs, with Zielinkski only having like 2 **maybe** 3 stinkers and Blundell with a similar **maybe** 2 or 3 stinkers, but even then all 4-6 of the “stinkers” from their runs combined still have elements that players can and do enjoy

According to IMDB and the wiki, Blundell also is responsible for BO4 maps, to what extent is debatable as we all know Alpha Omega was made by someone else, but yeah, he is missing maps in that portfolio

Arguably Zielinkski had far better maps than Blundell. Never know why Blundell was always so hyped up

Not a single bad map from Zielinkski yet multiple bad maps from Blundell

  14. Ragipi12

He really just had the most unique locations for maps. I don’t even try to compare their maps, I just enjoy them.

I will correct that, because it is wrong. Nacht was not lead by Zielinski, the entire concept of zombies (including Nacht) was created by a guy named Jesse Snyder.

  16. Y’all left out a whole ass game that includes 8 more maps for blundell’s resume

I feel like Zielinkski was hated by the community mostly because of transit and die rise, while Jason bundle camred everyone with Mob and origins, so I would agree that Zielinkski really doesn’t get enough credit, I always wondered what zombies would look like if he was still creative director and what story lines would have been, it probably would have Stayed with group 935 and more Nazi stuff.

  18. SMK_Factory1

Didn’t zielinski have a hand on shadows as well?

  19. Nugget_investor

Shoutout Kevin Drew for Cold War, Vanguard, and MWZ. Really carried on the tradition well lmao

  20. Zielinkski actually doesn’t miss. Every map he worked on was a banger without exception

Blundell seems to be the fan favorite, but I personally only enjoy one of his maps.

  21. ItsMrDante

I mean most people’s top 3 maps are in Blundell’s side so it makes sense. Also why are we not putting BO4’s map on the Blundell list?

  22. theHashHashingHasher

The community is finally healing. So glad everyone can finally see how terrible the Bludellification of zombies has been.

    Blundell > Zielinski > Drew

Both blundell and zielinski made amazing maps, but blundells run up until bo4 was peak zombies. Drew has been awful so far, but maybe bo6 will be better.
