I apologize in advance if the following is a little self-important. I don’t have anybody to share this with IRL that would actually care haha.
I’ve been playing these games since the original modern warfare and the franchise has been a constant in my life for close to 2 decades. However, I think it’s about time this 30+ yo working professional steps away from the call of duty haha.
With more and more competing priorities in life, the introduction of omni movement , and my inability to adapt to claw/paddles, I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to hang / play at the level I’d find enjoyable with the time I have available for gaming. I’ve usually been pretty decent at these games and wouldn’t want my last memories of a franchise I cherish to be me getting stomped on haha.
I dabbled in rank multiplayer during season 2, but have otherwise just played “casual” warzone and multiplayer. When Omni was introduced, I “saw the writings on the wall” and I told myself I was going to hit crim in multi and warzone before season 6. I wanted to sort of prove to myself that I was at least a certain skill level and then walk away on a personal high note.
I know crim is far from iri/top 250, but I simply didn’t have the time / skills / energy to realistically go for those ranks. I solo q’d for like 95% of my games, so the crim grind was already tough as is. With a few days left in the season, I was able to reach my goal and I’m really glad that I did.
I think I’m going to print/frame this screenshot as a reminder of all the good times but leave the franchise in the rear view. The pigeon is my favorite WZ skin and the MCW is what I used for ranked multi.
