I’ve been a systems technician for 16 years. I have never seen swelling this bad go totally unnoticed. Customer was surprised I was being fairly stern and apparently did not think it was a concern.

    This is a bomb sir.

did they think “oh that must just happen sometimes, its fine”?

From the first three pictures,I thought he dropped it / something on it, didn’t think of swelling of the battery. Wow that’s dangerous.

I’ve seen plenty of batteries like this, but never seen it crack the c-cover.

My company uses Dell laptops. About 10 years ago a bunch of the Latitude machines had swelling batteries. I wasn’t aware till I noticed my laptop wouldn’t sit flat. Battery was worse than the one in the picture.
