Starts up Helldivers 2, fog and dust stops you from seeing more than 5 meters…great. Might as well have integrated graphics
RabidTurtl
Oh boy, you’ll be able to bump graphics up to medium.
VNilla_
good to have some headroom at 1440p with high end hardware imo
LadBooboo
Got a 3080Ti only to end up playing Bloons TD6 most of the time lol
Lanky-Association952
3440x1440p here and the 4090 has it’s work cut out for it, depending on the settings.

Yes, thats me. I think 4k is unnecessary.
_nism0

1440p rise up! But to be honest I still remembered a few years back I built my 9900k rig, still rocking anddddddddd what do I do mostly? YouTube. Occasional movie viewing or music listening. 10% of that is actual gaming. When I say gaming, I mean I play Dave the Diver with a liquid cooled 3080. But on a serious note, I’m waiting for the FFVII Rebirth port to come on Steam to play.

I still don’t get the appeal of 4k gaming, for ke even 1440p is overkill. 1080p is the sweet spot
aberroco
Time to play Rimworld.
Revo_Int92
Real 4k is a distant reality. But you can be sure this godforsaken industry will promote 8k before optimizing the whole thing (you will reach 8k by rendering the game in 360p and scaling aaaaaaallll the way)

What’s sad is that this kind of hardware is almost needed for high frame rate gaming at even that modest of a resolution with modern game engines.

But this way you can play at 1440p for many more years than you would at 4k before having to upgrade
LowFi_Lexa1
What do you need 4K for? Granted, I haven’t had the chance to try it, except on like a tv. But I wouldn’t want my monitor to be bigger that 27 inches and I don’t feel like I need 4K for that monitor size, and besides, my 4080 barely gets 200fps in some games, I like to use all of the hz on my monitors
Never003
Many popular streamers are playing in that resolution with that kind of specs. I understand playing on 1080p but leave alone 1440p.
