I’d say peak CS mapping was 2014-15. Today the standard of community made maps is so high up, its impossible to break trough. Back then you didn’t need any custom assets, you just used what was bundled with CS and if you were really fancy you downloaded some custom textures.
Today you need to be (or have) a texture artist, 3D model artist etc. to even have a chance to make it.
