Went through a long rough patch in life and haven’t been able to game all year, wish me luck.
I have a few hours so I’m trying to make a dent in my backlog and try Chained Echos but my brain is not feeling it. Any suggestions on getting passed that initial resistance?
Game is awesome. Stick it out! JRPG intros are always a slog!

I’ve been there. It’s tough when you invest in all the gear hoping to recapture that nostalgic joy, but it doesn’t click like it used to. It’s okay, though gaming is your space to unwind and there’s nothing wrong with that. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s a crutch; those who do just lack imagination and probably lead pretty dull lives.

This has got to be the most ersatz set up I’ve ever seen. And right in the door way to top it off.

Good luck, brother, and have fun!

If you are not feeling it, maybe set the game aside from now and try something that’s easier to get into? Maybe play a couple of rounds of something multiplayer that’s designed to be addictive, to get you into a gaming mood.

Off top but Chained Echoes story makes no sense imo but the characters and gameplay are solid.

Why force it? It’s not food, it won’t go off. You have free time: maybe read a book or see where your fancy takes you.
The game will still be ready for you when the next time you’re free and more in the mood for it.

Why did you take the picture that way?

Some games are hard to get into. I have several in my backlog that I want to play, everyone seems to love, but I load it up and I’m just like ehhhh…..
Usually when I get in a gaming funk I usually take a break for a bit (which sounds like you were forced to do) or I play something that doesn’t require much brain power or induce much stress. City builders or park design games are ones I’ll hit up when I need a break.
