Was it listed on the amenities for rental? If not, it’s for looks or just needs to be removed from the place to avoid confusion.

Are you telling me your family doesn’t travel with Xbox 360 cables, controllers, and games?

They probably think of it as decoration.

Send it to me, I have a random power cable laying around and a handful of games. No console tho

I’ve been swiping Xbox 360 power cords and controllers from vacation rentals for year!

Tell the AirBnB owner that you’ll buy it from them for $30.

I wouldn’t be shocked if it died at some point; the missing flaps on the memory card slot and USB ports suggest that it’s been through hell already, and those things tended to red ring all the time. They probably just didn’t want to bother finding something to fill that weird space in the entertainment center, and took the accessories away instead.

The heavier version of those IKEA consoles

I’d be willing to bet they just don’t want people playing it because of XBL accounts and hard drive saves, but don’t want to lug the console back and forth. My guess would be that they keep the cables and controllers in the locked “personal closet,” that those places tend to have.
Another possibility is that a kid staying earlier stole the ammenities, but couldn’t figure out how to steal the entire console without getting caught.
