All they had to do really was set some basic requirements to enter the rmr something like faceit level 10 at least maybe some other stuff maybe you have get certified as a pro player in some sort of faceit league but no they made it so anyone could join so no names could just come in and cheat. I reckon it would’ve been a lot better if you had to build some sort of a reputation so you could enter the rmr. Something like fpl but once you’re in it, it means you’re able to enter the open rmr.

Hard disagree. The RMR system was ass. It allowed any team to fluke their way to the major and top teams that played well for months leading up to the major could mess up a single qualifier and not make it. Smaller teams can still make it, you just have to have consistently good results across multiple tournaments instead of fluking through a couple qualifiers to make it to the major.

I like seeing an underdog story here and there, but when half the teams in the playoffs are no-name underdog teams, it hurts the tournament in terms of viewership and entertainment. At the end of the day, all sports are about entertainment and people want to see storylines and rivalries play out.

Yeah maybe fluking a bunch of online BO1s should get you to a smaller t2 tournament, but absolutely not to the major. New tournament rules is the best thing valve did for CS in the past 5 years.

This nobody is mad that he has to work harder for the sticker money now and not just coast by on an rmr. There is no magic to him, only sticker revenue. Keep it real lil bro
