Most companies now (especially game devs) are going full low effort because they know people are complacent and will lap up whatever slop they dump in the trough. In the past devs seemed to be more diligent when it came to player feedback but that takes time and effort which means it costs them more money. The gaming industry as a whole has now realized that some people will complain about low effort development but at the end of the day they know it won't negatively affect their profits because people will play it anyway. It's really quite pathetic that people are so willing to defend actual trash products.
The problem with Valve is always their radio silence. See I get that they don't want to announce games and projects years before they are finished. They did that in the past and they learned it is better to reveale a project when it is nearly finished and they know when it will release.
That however doesn't work on games that are already released and people wait for any kind of information. You can't just ghost millions of players. They will leave if they don't know wtf is going on.

One of my buddies just got the game and every single match we went into had at least 2 cheaters that would kill you with scouts through the wall pretty much as soon as the match starts. Sad how new players are just unable to play this game at all right now.
