[For anyone wondering as of now the Nintendo Switch has sold over 141 Million units.](https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/finance/hard_soft/index.html) Xbox doesnt reveal their console sales numbers like PlayStation and Nintendo, but they give vague percentages every now and then. The latest figures they shared was that Xbox console sales was down 44% last quarter and the CFO expects sales to decline further this quarter

Thanks, I was really wondering about this statistic.

I guess PS5 sales will have a huge boost when GTAVI comes out
TraditionalMood277
Lower. The. Price.

Wolverine, GTA VI, MH Wilds and a rumored ps5 pro will really boost it rather than « just » (already good) being 7% above the ps4
covid and all delayed some games but imho 2025-2028, it’s certainly going to be far more exciting game wise
louiscools2005
I wonder if it’ll hit 100 million units sold soon.
DrIvoPingasnik
That’s a lot for a console with no games.
>!That’s a joke lads. Kinda.!<

I’d love to get one, but I can’t even justify buying a single game out of pocket, let alone a new game every time I finish one.
Is there an equivalent to “I use MS Rewards to pay for Game Pass Ultimate in perpetuity and get 1-2 non-GP games per year for free on top of that” in the Sony/Playstation realm of operations?
Cgking11
So many consoles with no games.
NoGoodManTH
That doesn’t make much sense when Sony keeps giving people fewer and fewer reasons to own one, especially since everything will eventually be on PC anyway
Frosty-Lemon
It’s not outpacing the ps4 worldwide, only in the USA.
mind_mine
I’ll buy mine when the ps6 comes out. Worked well moving from ps3 to ps4
TW_Yellow78
Failure console for dead consoles market right?
markusfenix75
PS5 is behind PS4 worldwide. And that gap widened in latest quarter. Only region where PS5 is selling better is North America
FlameStaag
Sony has really proven you don’t need to improve or innovate anything to be successful
FashionCon
it’s an amazing console
nicklovin508
Happy for the success, but I will die on the hill that it’s the ugliest console post 2000
braves01
Impressive considering it has no games
LoveWhor3s
yes, thats how time works

I find this fascinating. Personally, I’ve not been interested in a new console in two generations. It feels like they are hard to motivate when they’re basically PCs anyway. It was a different thing when you could just throw a game in a console and play it. No updates, etc. Consoles don’t offer something I can’t get elsewhere anymore.
skynetwins90
I still don’t have one. Just waiting till wolverine drops. Also still want a steam deck.
CruffTheMagicDragon
I haven’t really kept up with console sales numbers. Is Xbox doing even worse than last gen?
Curious_Associate904
Because it has *backward compatibility. That is the ONLY feature that makes people care.
*not perfect or complete apparently, but better than nothing.
