The first half of the video is strafing without crouching. I can consistently hit over 280 velocity.
But when I started holding crouch while strafing, I lost air control and it destroys my air speed.
Pretty sure it didn’t happen back in csgo

I might be wrong, but I had to let go of crouch when doing crouch jumps at long distances in kz maps.

IIRC crouching always decreased air accel

Hasnt this always been a thing? I remember back in 1.6 days you had to change airacceleration to 100 if you wanted to strafe while crouched

Yeah, this is legacy. Back in the old days when we jumped up on the mountain on nuke from truck in spawn you needed to: jump,crouch (to avoid skybox),release crouch, airstrafe to get it. Airstrafing while crouching just sent you straight forward. And the time window to hit was very small.
