Some background: I have like half a dozen Noctua fans left from my gamer days, now I barely game but I don’t wanna waste those good fan, they push lots of air, I want to repurpose them to a mini desk fan but don’t want to pay Noctua price, how do I achieve something like this?

A box fan and some Bluetooth headphone’s / dongle should set you back by like $50

Desk fans are pretty cheap but you’d have to either tape a cardboard tube around the fan edge and find a way to stand it or 3d print a shroud.

I 3d printed basically this although I designed my own fan controller, there are off the shelf ones that’ll do the same thing.

This is crazy timing, my wife recently bought a new hair-dryer that came with a bunch of attachments. One of them is shaped like this wind tunnel piece. I attached it to a 140mm case fan with some zip ties and keep it under my desk to keep my lower body cool.

It worked like a charm. No more swamp ass during the summer.

I know they published the official 3D model to be printed with the exact same design. You can search it up
