XDefiant’s Engine Was NOT Meant For FPS Games



Thanks to XDefiant lead and executive producer Mark Rubin, today we learned more about the engine that the game is running on and how it was actually not intended for the FPS genre.

  1. Bottom line is they shouldn't have used it then, obviously this was because ubisoft wanted them to use an in house engine. They didn't want to pay royalties for unreal or some other engine. Ubisoft being cheap has made the game worse for the players and made far more work for the devs.
