I love edf. They’re obviously different games but same vibe and theme. More folks should play edf.
Eager for 6 to he localized this year finally!

Helldivers is goofy, but it’s still trying to depict a relatively “harsh” environment. Earth defense force is completely over the top and there’s no point where you’re supposed to take it seriously. People tend to like games where there feels like there’s some stakes.

THE EDF DEPLOYS!

Yes, in the same way that Mario kart and forza are the same game. Brilliant take.

Edf sucks compared to helldivers

They’re the same form of concept. There’s only so many ideas you can think of for a game, good ideas that is.

I wish Helldivers had the weapon variety of EDF. I loved experimenting with all of the wacky weps trying to find my favorite build.

I loved how amazingly awful the voice acting is in EDF. The game is completely ridiculous and rolls with it
Helldivers is pretty different in mechanics but definitely does radiate similar goofball energy

EDF! EDF!

Or “Arse Defense Force”, as the Japanese call it, because their language has neither the ɜː nor θ sounds needed to say “Earth”.

well one you go to other planets, the other has the planets come to you

You sound dumb.

Helldivers is “offense is the best defense” type of game. EDF is “surviving an alien invasion” type of game. Just look at the settings. Helldivers is off-world while EDF is, obviously, on earth.

False.
In helldivers I am a goon sent to die on a world against waves of monsters. I will do so gleefully and will be replaced moments later by another like me.
In EDF I am a Japanese salaryman who has been conscripted and given an m-16. This m-16 can kill God. I will proceed to level Tokyo after fighting off giant frogs, a horde of truck sized spiders, and UFOs. I have expended enough ammunition to make Lend-Lease blush. I am unharmed.

And both are just Starship Troopers.

This is truly traitorous sentiment. I will have you picked up for re-education at once.

Except they’re really not
That’s like saying GTA and Saints Row are the same game or Call of Duty and Battlefield. Sure similar concepts but that’s about it

I would really love to be able to play this game more, but between the server issues and getting randomly kicked from teams, I spend more time waiting around for a match to start than anything else.
