By the end of 2024, it'll be 4 years into the current generation. Nintendo's system launch a gen behind tech-wise, but mid 2025 will put them near the end of this gen!
At that point, they'll be nearly 2 gens behind, and risk losing 3rd party support. All that goodwill they built up with the Switch & 3rd parties still dry up fast like with the Wii U. People think Nintendo fans will buy anything & only 1st party games matter, but we've seen many times that Nintendo consoles without major 3rd party support fail.
It'll also give more time for other handheld PCs to get even more advanced. And if there's no major AAA Switch games coming in the meantime, momentum will be lost even more.

Microsoft should offer dual booting with their handheld. Have "Xbox mode" by default, which is a locked-down and closed platform, but allow the user to boot into "Windows mode", which can allow you to play your Steam and PC Game Pass games with worse performance.

Perhaps the delay nintendo is expeirancing is due ti them securing better distrubution methods, as it would be more ideal to get the hardware into the hands of actual people that are likely to buy software as well, than bots.

I doubt the switch 2 getting pushed back rumor. The “Leaker” for that info is a reporter who has a large track record of getting “leaks” wrong, and quickly walks them back later. At this point unless it comes from Nintendo themselves, I won’t believe it.
honestly have no issue with Nintendo releasing remasters of their games. Especially if that means we get a Windwaker/Twilight Princess remake. The prices for these old Wii U games are skyrocketing.

Gonna be honest, I don't trust these rumours about the Switch 2 at all. I still expect it this year. A rumour out of Brazil during a time when speculation around Nintendo is at a fever pitch, due to an expected Direct (partner direct on the 21st) and the Switch 2 itself means yeah, nah, we're gonna have to wait and see on this one. A Switch 2 this year still makes the most sense, especially financially, which is the bottom line.

I wouldn't presume at this point that anything labeled as AAA is going to be a large long lengthy game. If Ubisoft is labeling, skull and bones as AAAA then everything that makes something AAA is about budget and not quality of work or length of game
