CS2’s last massive update made improvements to a lot of the issues players were having with how the game felt mechanically. Which is faaaaaanastic.

But looming behind every new patch Valve rolls out is the expectation for something that will fix CS2’s cheating problem. .

So we sat down with one of the people responsible for Valorant’s Vanguard Anti-Cheat system to find out how to solve CS2’s biggest problem, once and for all.

  1. Ai anti cheats dosent exist att all. And ai anticheats havent proven effective in tests att all. The only way for an effectiv anticheat is totaly to make it intrusive.

  2. Fighting against cheaters is a non stop war. And unfortunately, these low life cheaters make it their jobs literally to make cheats, which put Devs in a spot where they have to put in non stop funds and takes away from future content. And a cheater problem and no content both drives away players. So its a tough battle.

But kernel access anti cheats and as many hurdles as possible are the only ways to stop cheating.

  3. it's even worse than explained. I didn't even bought the game because I knew this will be a problem. No Valve products anymore thank you.

  4. A kernel level anticheat if it comes from a trustworthy company like Valve with a good track record, and regularly gets audited, ideally open source, then I'm fine with it. But they should still make it so that there's a choice, so different matchmaking pools like they do now with Prime.

  5. I remember I left CS:GO in 2018 for cheating issues. Every match that I played in everymode was full of cheaters and that also incited me to cheat. How can I keep on playing the game..then if I leave mid match I get penalty? So I cheated so I can at least complete the match against cheaters. I'm glad valorant came in when I needed a competitive FPS but I would love to go back to a traditional FPS game.

  6. "A stellar upgrade that won't break the bank" BRO that monitor is LITERALLY $1000 American MSRP, it's just as expensive as the 540 😂

  7. I found this fix that really worked, I went into manage by right clicking the game in steam—>Browse Local Files—>csgo—> select all & delete. Lmk if this helped!

  8. I bet at least half the community of CS has cheated or still cheats. Then they cry because they are scared of a multi-billion dollar company “spying on them”. News flash, you already downloaded some sketchy files from an unknown, non-reputable source to cheat. They probably abuse your PC more than any of these companies because they don’t have an international reputation to uphold 😂

  9. It would take let's say more that actual half population of regular players to send a letter to Valve's headquarters that says "Fix VAC, please!".

I can guarantee that it would definitely bring their attention to this issue for sure.

  10. We will be living on another planet before valve gives us a working anti cheat (or 128tick servers lmao)

  11. Bruh, I got a cheater in one of my games the other day. He only bought a DEagle every round and would 1-shot headshot us all. He would also headshot us from thin walls. His strategy was to die every other round and purposely miss some of the shots once he killed 3-4 of us.

  12. Why does everyone in every game always say they are "sure they (the developer) are working on their anticheat/fix/update"? It's not like they are paying you not to say bad stuff? You know? Kind of getting old, you know?

  13. Tell you a true story. It applies to Valve as well.
Two things were expected to happen in Siege after Val (or Project A) was announced. 1) It forces Ubisoft to either put more resources towards their own anticheat or Battleye, or acquiring Vanguard rights for use in Siege. 2) People see how great the Vanguard is and pressure Ubisoft to do "1)".
None happened. Players got even more lenient.
Obviously same trend is with the CS community.
Cutting slack and mincing words does not help.
    A-holes should be called a-holes.

  14. 1:06 – The punchline "gamer" has me waiting for a H3H3 follow reaction video similar to their "gamer gear" reaction video.
    "REALLY"

  15. Had another player get banned mid-game in my casual lobby. Was really fun hearing the VC going nuts seeing the console saying "user ID has been banned"

  16. It honestly feels really horrible knowing that Valve is barely doing anything with VAC.
    First TF2 and no CS2.
Even though I prefer TF2 it's still just really horrible on both sides and in every way possible.

  17. I don't trust Riot with my hardware they are a chineese company and owned by tencent and therefore the ccp has a full acess ROOTKIT in your PC we are talking about a MILITARY DICTATORSHIP here i'd rather loose to some russian kid in CS than know a foreign government owns all of my DATA

  18. vanguard maybe the "best anti-cheat" but its time has passed. Now most valorant games in SEA server, at least one in the ten players, will be doing some sort of black magics.
the best way to anti-cheat is either drone strike any cheaters or start letting high rank players manually review reports like the old cs does.

  19. I don't trust any anticheat from any company. There is a large chain of trust that can and has been shown to be broken. SolarWinds is the most prominent example of this as a malicious update pushed from their own update servers comprimised Microsoft. They have the gaul to ask regular people who aren't even playing in a contract tournament to upload ID's. Did the Equifax hack teach you nothing?
Any anticheat I run will be virtualized under linux. Even this is risky as there is hardware exploits like Rowhammer, Downfall, Spectre/Meltdown, and all other classes of Speculative execution vulnerabilities on the end users computer.

I understand why Valve doesn't want to deal with it.

  20. Isnt valorant experiencing a cheating operation rn in NA virginia servers past midnight thats so pervasive you can literally bet on queue sniping cheaters for free rr

  21. VAC Live doesn't work overnight, if you want to train an AI to visually automatically detect cheats and make the AC software as unintrusive as possible you would need hundreds of thousands of hours to train a model to accurately detect cheats, but if we account for people who are good enough, lucky enough, or in recent history have a high sensitivity, there will always be an error threshold. This threshold is something that I assume valve wants to combat, so we won't see a large scale precise roll out of VAC Live.

Unfortunately VAC Live cannot detect closet cheaters who actually play the game and know how to hide their cheats will never be detected, because for the most part they act like normal players.
