  1. The game actually looks good to me and the movement gives you the feel that the character is heavy and wearing heavy armor…. Gives me gears of war vibes

  2. remember space marine one first level come out with a bang against the orks also i wonder if u can meet catachans since there is a jungle level

edit if they cant make a sly marbo reference in a jungle that is a miss opertunity as a easter egg

  3. Looks like they used the engine World War Z used for their hordes. It even looks like it plays just like the game, but it’s Warhammer and Tyranids instead of zombies.

  4. How about an isometric co-op strategy game but you can take direct control of individual units third or first person to go up against other online teams of different factions?

  5. Its a first glimpse ya, and the Space Marines are mostly just fighting gaunts with a few warriors sprinkled in. Things will start getting crazy when Lictors and Ravenors are ambushing the players and not to mention the spectacle if a Carnifex tears apart a tank before your eyes. Hopefully that is a set piece

  6. Man i love tyranids. So heres a fun story for ya.
Devestatiom of Baal, Tyranids were trying to consume the planet and were syrrounding a certain fortress. The only defense of the fort was a massive two mile moat around it that contained a patasite that lives in the water, so fast acting that ot kills you as soon as you touch it. The moat forced the tyranids to retreat the first time they encountered it.

A few nights later, a marine was speaking with civillians when he noticed that there was movement in the dark. When he looked closer, he realized in horror that the tyranids had figured out a way past the moat: Hundreds were charging head first into the water, leading them to at first thing it was delusion. Until the noticed that their bodies were plugging up the water. Thw tyranids crafted a bridge out of their own dead, and quickly overwhelmed the marines. Its an awesome moment rhat demonstartes that for as animalistic as they are, they can be HORRIFICALLY cunning.

  7. I don't know if I love all the random particle effects – they can look cool in fighting games with vague lore where you can concievably believe your character is magic, or has psychic powers or something, but the knife having green swooshy effects and the red glow and random lightning particles coming off the armour just seem super silly and arcadey to me.

Like, is the knife meant to be a power knife? Or have some kind of bio-mass mod? Idk, it all just looks very out of place amidst the really grounded backdrop.

  8. They should fire whoever played the game / chose the clips to show for this.
The trailer has jet packs etc. You can definitely play the power fantasy of sprinting around and fighting in this, they showed no bosses or even minibosses, all that we saw were gants/genestealers & tyranid warriors…

  9. Asmon is usually pretty perceptive but I'm surprised he didn't pick up on it being "slow" because the guy playing is purposefully walking. This whole thing is showing "hey look 40k fans this is what a war against the Tyranids looks like". The Imperial Guard trying to hold the line. The volume of lasgun shots in the distance etc.

  10. Can't people just play the fucking game, instead of trying to make it look like amovie or cinematic?
I have high hopes for SM2, but whoever was playing in this gameplay should never touch a fucking controller anymore.

  11. 😍 Gears of war did a pretty good job with the story of the game, the gameplay was a cherry on top. I am hoping this game has a Interesting story like GEARS did, otherwise will be hard pill to swallow.

  12. This guys not a good reference. Hes not even that good at gaming so his words dont have any weight.

  13. I'm sure they were specifically trying to show off the sky boxes and gun play. The real action is in melee because thats where you get parries and finishers that look cool and also replenish your health.

  14. Game looks boring, clunky and repetitive. For a 40K fan it will be serviceable but nothing more.

  15. I can confirm this is Canada. Ever wonder how Alberta is the only rat free place in the world?

    Now you know

  16. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE SLOW !!! otherwise how on earth would you feel the weight of the armour !!!clearly your not the target audience for this game ,the pace of the game is perfect

  17. For being a Warhammer 40k game and against Tyranids at that, a race known for being practically infinite, this game is slow af and a disappointment. There should be waves upon waves of tyranids with waves of human reinforcements dying to stop them. Instead we have this half assed game.

It's too slow and easy for what it is. Every single time you should be getting swarmed like in 9:30 and in those instances where the normal swarm should be there should be five times the number of enemies and double the difficulty.

  18. When I plyed Space Marine 1 the action didn't feel dragged out, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt because it may very well be a gaming journalist level gameplay, but if it's intentional to better show the game they're doing a tremendous disservice to it because the reaction from the average user will be like Asmongold's

  19. For me it would be just a matter of preference, the game's good in my eyes and as a Warhammer fan I appreciate this a lot.

  20. Tell me Asmon didn't play the first game without telling me Asmon didn't play the first game. 😂
