looks like a right handed setup but, looks like OP is into free suffering
if you seldom use your laptop as a portable device, you could just place it on its right side, placed on the left side of your monitor; it would also improve the thermals … lastly the use in portrait would also be more fitting considering the size of the paired monitor. (and more room for your mouse lol)
