I think one of the main reasons why teams appear to be playing less counter-strike is the increase in prep work they do before each game/tournament compared to early csgo days where they would just get into multiple games with little prep work done
I think the reason is because there are more active pro players and teams and limited events so that the official game each player plays decreased. Back then the total team is like 8-9 big teams that gets invited to every event, now there are so many of them that it's naturally slowing down as the game grew bigger
