Maybe just focus on making a good Halo game first, then chase trends after 😐

  2. sidspacewalker

Yes, it would be a game changer in that it wouldn’t be a fucking Halo game anymore.

I would have played it, but I don’t think it would have been all that successful. If they managed to pull that off before call of duty war zone then maybe. The issue with halo now is that even when I try to go on customs browser there is no one playing. They needed to focus on what the fans expected first.

Would you guys be cool with an halo entry without master chief? I’m talking original trilogy level of game but with another spartan or something? Because I really feel they should’ve let John stay hibernated for good after halo 3

    I wouldn’t have touched it.

    Trend chasing is stupid.

  6. Correct_Sometimes

imagine just making game that continues to follow the same proven successful formula for the series instead of trying to upend the franchise to chase trends.

I hate that devs think a BR is the way to go for everything. It’s so over used and over saturated at this point if they were to focus on adding a BR mode instead of make the next game a banger to earn trust back

No it couldn’t. It would be trend-chasing instead of keeping the integrity of what makes Halo, Halo. A casual/social slow-paced party shooter with an engaging campaign and multiplayer making it a complete franchise.

Not gonna lie. If they took warzone from 5 and made it a battle royal that could really have been something. Dodging covies, banished, forerunner, maybe even flood, only to then have to beat the shit out of a player and hope for loot would have been pretty fun. Whole crews just popping up through weird halo community osmosis mid combat would have been icing on the cake.

A game changer because after you put it in it isn’t Halo anymore.

  11. Wardogs96

Nah it would of flopped 343 can’t release good games.

This might be unpopular, but I really wish they would’ve done it.

CoD Warzone needs more competitors.  How stale it is and how big the player base remains is a product of lack of competition.  I wish there were Counterstrike Battle Royales, Halo Battle Royales,  GoldenEye 64 Royales… why not?  You don’t have to play it but if you’re a fan jump in!

  13. It probably wouldn’t have been, though if there was a game that had mechanics and design that could naturally lend themselves to a BR, it’s Halo. Solid, quick movement with high jump heights, fun vehicles with plenty of variety, and then they added a great grappling hook in Infinite.

But if it came out today, it would have been at least five years too late to have any hope of competing with the other BR games, and I don’t know if a BR mode would have been enough to bring back the thousands of players who dropped off within the first few months of the game.

Dunno, feels like it would have been too late to the party anyways.

Players who like battle royals already have a lot of established options like Fortnite, PUBG, Apex, Warzone and others. The only thing Halo could have offered as different experience is…being Halo-skinned.

  15. ShadowRiku667

And adding Unicorns with spartan lasers attached would have changed the series forever, doesn’t make it a good idea.

  16. It would have ended up like Concord. A game 5 years too late to a beaten to death genre.

  17. vampyrialis

The big streamers wanted it so it must be a good idea! /s

  18. LightmanHUN

Sure, killing the franchise faster would’ve technically be a ‘game changer’.

  19. Bitter-Whole-7290

If I had a nickel for every time a dev talked about their cancelled project being groundbreaking/a big deal…

  20. Alenacherubic

Honestly don’t care for the Battle Royale Genre and I don’t think it would suit the Halo style. I feel they should take notes from either Destiny or even better Space Marines and do a 2-4 player activity that’s almost like a mini mission that gives a different perspective on what’s happened in the time of Chief drifting in Space and landing on a Banished inhabited ring. We came across multiple different Spartans in the campaign so why not hear their story and their end from a operations based mission 🤷‍♂️

  21. c0okIemOn

    Yes, no.

Halo was never and will never be good as a BR. It just doesn’t work.

  22. This is why the rumors of Pierre being a micromanager don’t bother me. This studio desperately needs to be reigned in.

  23. AquaArcher273

Oh yea it would’ve been a game changer all right. Instead of Halo being severely crippled and the trust of fans plummeting even more than it already had, instead all trust would be completely lost and Halo might never have come back from the catastrophe of a half baked battle royale mode.

  24. Flimsy-Jello5534

Game changer aka death of the franchise.

  25. NachoBowl1999

I don’t like that genre, but I like the idea of Big team battle becoming VERY big team battle. 50v50 was the most fun I had playing Fortnite.

  26. TheRexRider

The lowest points of Halo has been when it tried to be CoD, so why not try to make it Halo?

  27. dano1066

Because another battle Royale game is exactly what gamers are in need of!

  28. Not_My_Emperor

You’re like 7 years late chasing that trend big guy
