I failed this quest (not according to game) and it was surprisingly shocking. As soon as you talk to him and leave his apartment. The game doesn’t tell you what to do next to save/help him so I thought the 2 NCPD officers outside would do something next that progress the quest forward in a good way. Guess what….after a few days later I see the big cop sitting outside in tears and full of regret and I realized not long after when Barry stick some lead in his mouth and pulled the trigger. Majority of players playing this 1st time will fuck this quest up 100%.

So somehow I ended up triggering a fight with the 2 cops outside his unit. So the quest never activated for me and I’ll just tell myself Barry lived happily ever after

After visiting Barry, i picked the bad option while talking with the cops. Sad.

Damn. I had heard this could go badly but I guess I lucked out. Wish I could still hang out with him again

Me who has never had Barry die wondering how its possible all these people aren’t at all concerned about the rapidly deteriorating mental health of their NCPD neighbor in a universe where cyberpsycho attacks happen frequently and without warning.
Side note; damn y’all should really pick up the phone and reach out to any friends you guys have in real life. I didn’t think the whole “check in on your friends and neighbors” thing needed to be stated but I guess there is a reason that so many mental health places in real life advocate for it so often.

Barry always survives in my playthroughs. Choose the friendly dialogue options, choose all of the blue optional dialogues as well.
This unlocks an optional quest to visit the columbarium and find Andrew’s grave. Don’t talk to the cops until after you find the grave. Go back and tell the cops the truth about Andrew.
