I have an issue with how the new CS2 Armory update has been sold.
In short, the store describes[1] the update as "Activate a pass and start earning credits, which can be redeemed for a wide range of items."
However you don't redeem credits for items, you redeem them for a chance to "gamble" at getting a random item. You are not able to redeem for the specific items you want.
No where in the store pages does it say that you are gambling to receive a random item. It says that you will redeem credits for items, which in lieu of other information, implies that one would be able to select the item that they want to redeem the credits for.
Beyond that, its common to receive the same items repeatedly. I've redeemed about 10 credits so far, and have received 3 unique items / keep getting duplicates.
Honestly a joke.

They say the credits/stars can be redeemed for items and indeed they can. It‘s not like there is a chance to get nothing.
You can see which items you can redeem the credits for before purchasing the pass.
If you somehow thought you would be able to straight up buy the red skins, that‘s on you.

I agree with you. In the past when you bought the operation pass, which made you eligible for random drops, it just felt different.
The only guaranteed item is the case itself.
All the other items, including the desert eagle, you will get a different skin, different quality or randomness in the heat treatment. It’s gambling/lottery for sure.
It’s like playing a game at an arcade and getting tickets, and then when you go to turn those tickets in, you roll dice to see if you actually get the thing you want.

Literally the same as opening cases, unless you buy the deagle but even that has an element of gamba to it. Truth is you know what you were getting into and being unlucky does in fact suck ass.
The fact that they came out with a battlepass rather than an operation is a big letdown. I have the feeling that valve is no longer different than the big studios and greed virus has infected them too.
i bought 15pass , 0 pink and red.
There is some dude can actually pull red or pink out in 1 pass.
If you are the 0.1% luckiest motherfucker , you will get it whatever you bought 1pass or 5pass.
99% of people have the same experience like me.
Don’t buy pass if you can recognize yourself belong to 99%folks.
