Am I REALLY helping with my modern gaming laptop’s lifespan by elevating it reducing its temps by 5c? I’d simply rather it be flat. (85c to 80c on the GPU)

If you are that concerned by possible wear just undervolt, it’s much more effective

This is the old and best method, you can use a cola cap, put 2 bottle caps on the non-slip base of the laptop and raise it

Have you tried undervolting? My friend did it on his laptop and he basically got better performance with lower temps

People who say no … I assume they haven’t had that many laptops. Everything heat related is decaying other components. Every degree of heat will permeate other electronics because everything is super packed. So yeah do that and also undervolt to a sweetspot trade of performance and heat
