Worst thing to come from this would be just getting more spam emails sent the users way from spam lists…
That is unless the user doesn’t have a separate PW or PW manager for the internet archive, at which point they’d be lucky to not have had their info stolen from elsewhere.

Hey, my main email got pawned too long ago because I used It to create an account for a shitty mmo (lol).
I highly recommend anyone like me, who cannot simply change the email, to create an alias and configure It as your login, this won’t stop the spam but will prevent undesired login attempts.
