Updated Gigabyte B650 bios from F2 to F31 and now the mobo is stuck on black screen when rebooting

After updating the BIOS from F2 to F31 on B650-GAMING-X-AX with a 7700X – the system is stuck on a black screen with the DRAM light, regardless of the training time.

Whereas when I update to F23 through the following procedure:

  1. Clear cmos through pins + remove battery + discharge the current by powering on the PC (with the unplugged cable)
  2. Use 1 stick of RAM inserted into A2 slot
  3. Update to F23 BIOS through q-flash button
  4. Set EXPO (5600mhz, 36-36-36-76 @ 1.25v) + memory power down disabled + memory context disabled

I'm able to reboot without a black screen when saving settings, but when I add the 2nd RAM stick it freezes on reboot / saving bios settings, and it's only able to boot on a cold boot from powering off and on the PC…

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the RAM timings and VSOC changes from F2 to the recent version, because when reading the default values from earlier versions, the VSOC was set to 1.4v…

The interesting thing is that the RAM SKU is listed as 16GB in QVL page, but it's 32GB: CMK32GX5M2B5600C36

Which gives me the impression that the current voltages are only optimized for 16GB sticks and I have to tweak the RAM voltages too…

And of course I can't download the F2 bios because they deleted it.

Any ideas guys? Thank you
