What’s impressive is how good this game looks to this day. Not only was the team behind it really good at recreating the aesthetic and have amazing sound design, but the volumetric lighting, with quality prebaked shadows made such a massive difference when it comes to visuals ten years later.
I wish we had a new dead space game, or something similar with the same aesthetic and sound design. So much potential.

This game is actually amazing, IMO.
I played it for the first time just this year. I didn’t know much about it and honestly I’m not even that big a fan of the Alien movies. But I had played Prey blind recently and really enjoyed that, so I sought recommendations from the internet. Someone recommended Alien: Isolation and it happened to be on a Steam sale.. so I bit !
Loved every. single. second. Great game, amazing visuals and atmosphere. I strongly recommend this game.

Absolutely superb game. Not only does it really sync you into the amosphere, but it *feels* like you’re in the films.
Also, shout out to whoever the voice casting director was who got most of the original actors from Alien for the DLCs. I remember playing it the first time thinking “huh, they did a really good job getting someone to sound like Tom Skerrit…”

I would love to see mods bringing visuals into the 2020s as lighting/shadows and textures have come along way since.

When I first heard about this, while being on development, I thought it was a shooter. Then felt disapointment when it came out and wasn’t. But then I played it and it was hard to be disappointed lol it was such a great experience.

Good game, plays out all its cards way too early tho, not a problem with this game in particular, a lot of single boogyman, helpless survivor type games suffer from it, you get caught 3-4 times especially if in a short time frame and there goes all the horror. The game looks great, tho I still have not gone more than 20% of the way though beforehand getting bored

I need to work up the courage and beat this game this month. The farthest I’ve gotten is shortly after getting the flamethrower. I usually wind up cowering in a lock singing ‘Country Roads’ to myself.
I’m so slow and through when I play games. That playstyle doesn’t jive with having to deal with something stalking you.
