Tomb raider’s graphics look so good for an 11 year old game and such low requirements, maybe the rest should learn or sum

Settings should allow you to customize your fame to run smoothly and be beautiful enough on your machine.

You’re going to get downvoted a lot, because the gaming community is toxic, and a lot of immature people can’t have a rational/reasonable discussion about what it takes to make a good looking games and optimize it for a wide range of platforms. There’s no interest in pragmatism. It’s all just rage bait.

How does wanting better optimized games conflict with wanting consoles with better specs?
Next are you gonna tell me I can’t have a well paying job that I also enjoy working at?

Metal Gear Solid V runs on flawless 60fps and looks great on xbox one. The console is 12 years old

Even if the majority of PC gamers have high spec machines, games should be optimised better. There is no point in having high spec components sweating hard just because a game is not optimised.

BF1 is also a prime example.
Looks better than most games today while it runs solid 60fps even on GTX 1060 at 1080p ultra

1080p still doing it for me lol

They are optimizing games to work on SteamDeck/AsusRog etc. but Series S is holding industry back.
Yeah sure.

Modern mid range here 5700x, 4060ti 16gb, 32gb 3200mhz ram
Almost everything runs smoothly nowadays, are consoles really still holding back things, aren’t modern consoles quite high spec?

I agree, I didn’t buy an expensive GPU to have OK FPS, just make games as they were made 10 years ago and let me have stable 144 FPS. I don’t care for these new graphics features, I just care for good enough visuals, majority of the focus on gameplay, and good performance.

Sounds like a skill issue to me

One is asking for further progression in graphics and design in games, the other is asking for the optimisation that comes with it
What’s wrong with both

Yea dlss and fsr are just excuses for unoptimized games.

I’ve always been of the opinion that devs should optimize for the lowest common denominator so once you have access to more powerful hardware you can “simply” turn the dials up to increase eye candy while still maintaining decent performance.

at high settings 30fps, games on pc should run equal to console if the pc has ‘similar’ specs. on pc you get the bonus of being able to lower the settings till you can count the pixels on the screen, so optimizing that part would help ideal.
Other than that, optimize for similar specs but different brands and you should be golden. If microsoft delivered a shit product to have something cheaper to sell that should be on them. If the Series S is shit, it’s shit. It’s the reason Sparking Zero only has dual screen in one stage

Both of these are true
This is true.
