Yeah, some people are starting to see the drawback of digital convenience, but are *enough* of them? 🤔
Now imagine what happens to a cashless, gas/petrol-less society when the electrical grid goes down.

Steam games are not immune to this, unfortunately. If you wanna secure your games from something like that, you need to go full GOG because of the lack of DRM.

Someone shoot me in the face if I ever make a single player game that needs online verification. You heard it here, I give you permission to assassinate me.

Use GoG.

Thats really shit but I think its also clearly an issue that the only “singleplayer” game this person has ready to play is COD. I have no doubt the rest of their installed games would be NBA, FIFA, Fortnite and probably Warzone. Sure, modern software licensing sucks, but so does limited variety in the games you play.

I can’t imagine having a pc full of multiplayer games.

And yet if I have old XP games on Steam and XP old hardware sitting around capable of playing those games, Steam outright denies access, while GOG’s DRM free offline installers just work on any platform the game supports!

Jones on yal’ll my PSVita and PS3 work offline! (my PS3 currently has no thermal paste on it though)

On pc you can buy the games on GOG/pirate the games and then transfer them to a hard drive ,and is done you own the games forever

But.. but we did this..
DRM isn’t something consoles came up with. Hell not that long ago Microsoft got a lot of pushback for it. We made it acceptable. We chose convenience. That was us. PC gamers. Because we didn’t want to have to use a disk or use a no disk patched exe

Again this is only happening to people who aren’t making their ps5 their Primary console. I have a ps5 and could still play HZD just fine

All this bollocks to stop pirating and all its really done is made player experience worse.

Why would a Playstation, a console that as far as I know can’t be hacked to run pirated games, would have licence verification every 5 minutes?
zDefiant
Ubisoft is guilty of this, and steam if you’ve never launched the title.
