For what it’s worth, I’ve probably played Five more times than I can count eversince I was a kid on BO1 back in the day. Tough as hell but man did it feel good to finally learn it and get good at it. The Presidents, the Pentagon thief, the lab, Winter’s Howl are all so memorable and unique to the map despite it being taken from the campaign mission.
That said, lately I’ve been playing BO4 zombies and found myself enjoying Classified a lot more than Five. Feels almost blasphemous to say in some ways but I really do enjoy it, I feel like Classified takes two steps forward with it, but one step back. In my opinion, it fixes a lot of issues with Five but also strips back a lot of what made Five unique as well for me.
For example, having teleporters actually tell you where you’re going is nice, I don’t mind the extra rooms in the back being open. Buildable shield is nice too (especially with Victorious Tortoise) and I like that the wall weapons are more viable off the wall. The Ultimis crew have some of their funniest dialogue here as well, to me anyway. At the same time, losing the Presidents and the Pentagon thief is a big blow as well and I much prefer the lighting and art style of Five to Classified as well.
Also sidenote but, I find that training in the war room in Five gets boring and tedious very fast usually. The spawn room isn’t so bad either but it’s a bit riskier for me and I don’t do as well there lol, skill issue I guess.

As a solo player these days, yes, Classified is more replayable now. But holding out in the elevator in Five splitscreen back in the day will always be one of the best memories I have about Zombies.

I enjoy Five, I just cannot get fun out of the BO4 mechanics. I try and try but always seem to revert to BO3 and older.

No, not at all. Classified has almost none of the things that I like about FIVE. It doesn’t have the characters, it doesn’t have the vibe, it doesn’t have the pentagon thief, it doesn’t have the difficulty, it doesn’t have the OG perks and BO1 weapons. Why tf would I ever play it over FIVE? Classified is just the same location as five (with completely different aesthetics, no atmosphere, and new areas) and shares nothing else in common with it.
