Just a quick reminder because a lot of people here probably weren’t around 8 years ago.
[Edit: This is not a “no feedback allowed” or “the game is prefect”. Just a reminder that the same shit happend with GO. Because everyone here pretends GO was perfect (it wasn’t, even after 12 years) and this only happens since CS2 dropped.]

There was no reason to ruin a good working game just to start this shit over, literally 10 years of wasted development

CSGO towards the end was close to perfect.
Yeah, it was pretty bad to start off with but atleast Valve kept updating and improving it.
CS2 has been completely abanoned and after 1 year is in pretty much the same state it was in its beta….

So because valve made the same mistakes in the past, it’s OK they’re doing it again? Great logic!

i hope Valve never change their approach.

People just don’t remember that CSGOs last 2 years were basically pro scenes dying left and right, map makers basically going “can’t do any more than this because we’re at the limit of the engine” and the game itself being absolutely plagued by one way smokes
I surely miss the fact that CSGO felt smoother and crisp but I can’t do anything about it, only hope that this becomes their focus instead of treating the game like they treated CSGO (oh players are complaining so much – here is a new case)

This isn’t a plausible argument, because it assumes it was a brand new company trying to make a similar game. Which it wasn’t, so yeah, hate is well deserved, they had ages to fix simple issues. They knew this game was unfinished, 1 year later the game is still much worse than the previous one. (Made on an engine 10 years older) Hate very well deserved, not to mention the shady review shit they did, coasting on GO’s massively positive reviews to sell a shitty product. Don’t defend a shit game and shitty commercial practices. Gaben doesn’t give a single fuck about u or ur dickriding abilities

aint no way there’s people that think cs2 being this shit can be justified. ok maybe csgo at release wasnt the best but it was released in 2012. cs2 was released in 2023, 11 YEARS LATER so the game shouldnt be worse than a game that was released in 2012 AND dont forget the fact that during this time cases have made valve MILLIONS of dollars yet they released this bullshit cs2 that has so much content misssing from csgo, shit optimisation, lots of bugs, bullets turning into ghosts, dying behind walls is more common than ever and literally no content. nothing was done in 1 year since the game was released. i hate valve for treating my favourite game in this way.

i love the cs formula so every 4 months ill binge play for a week then uninstall again. If the state of the game was more to what i like, id probably keep it downloaded and play once a week.

Just a quick reminder that this video is at a time where CSGO was actually playable. Some months before we got broken hitboxes and no 3d audio.
Those video were just cringe at the time also.

CSGO was in a very rough place in 2013. After that, except for a few key moments (like the AUGpocalypse or the R8 intro) and the usual VAC doom posts (can’t blame anyone for doing this), anyone complaining like that about the game itself was completely out of their minds, including some of the people in the clip you posted. Specially in regards to competitive play, CSGO through almost it’s entirety (again, except for the period until the first Major) was pretty much the true golden era of CS, a period of activity and prosperity that was unmatched since the very first time people gathered to play a tournament of 5v5.
But you’re right in that no one ever called it a “perfect game”, because it never was. What’s even more interesting, If you look into the complaints most people had during that era between the beta and the first major, many of the issues stayed in the game. What people called “ADADAD”, lack of first bullet accuracy, no bunny hopping, peekers advantage, buffed SMGs and Shotguns… It was all still there on the last version we had of CSGO, but people just got used to them. From the top of my mind, the only things that peole complained about and got genuinely better were visibility in maps and performance (and performance is just natural as computers get better).
All that said, this doesn’t change a single thing about the state of the game right now. I really hope Valve got a massive update incoming because otherwise it means the game is basically abandoned. Just as a reminder of how bad the situation is, Operation Diretide began in September 21 of 2021. It’s been over 3 years now since we had a new operation start in CS. Let that sink in. 3 years.

Jesus Christ, it’s the same shit that Steam users used to make fun of (fully justified) when someone try to defend EGS saying that StEaM iS aLrEaDy 10 YeArS oN tHe MaRkEt. In that case it’s even worse because it’s literally same company that had working product and now something is off. That of course doesn’t mean they will not eventually fix it, but defending it is absolutely hilarious for me.
