When your sleeper PC gets so old it’s now a retro PC itself this is what it looks like

I found this Fry’s PC at my grandparents’ house a couple years ago. I built my first computer/daily driver in this case. I figured I’d share this as I’ve only seen the case one other time online.

If those banana plugs on the side work, that’s rad.

That side capture card looks pretty neat, though. It’d be awesome for digitising old VHS.

I’ll let the subreddit decide if this is heresy or not, but here’s what I would suggest for future upgrade:

    1. Place some taller feet on the case. An extra 0.5-1″

    2. Cut a hole or two in the bottom, right below the GPU. Get some flat-strip magnets and flexible plastic mesh to make fan filters that can stick to underside of the case. May have to put some classic fan grills between the fans and the mesh, may not have to. This way you could have a positive pressure heavy fairflow, making up for the dinky rear fan some. **THAT SAID,** you’ll never be able to fit a large 3-slot GPU in that case without switching to Mini-ITX. Well, unless you mounted fans on the outside of the case’s underside.

    3. Here’s where things could get harder… You COULD DIY a USB-3 or 4 header on the side of the case in the future. But that will require some soldering and fancy footwork. You don’t have to, you can just route a cable to a dock on your desk if you want a bunch of I/O at your finger tips. Just a thought.

With that you could have a sleeper without TOO bad of airflow that you could rock for years and years.

Some doo doo airflow but cool looking case. I like it
