During one of the final pro league matches, spunj mentioned that it felt like Navi were particularly good at converting their timeouts into won rounds. I thought that was an interesting suggestion, so I fast-forwarded through the pro league broadcasts and took a note every time a team took a timeout, what HLTV tagged their buy as (full, partial, semi-eco, eco), and the round result. Turns out Navi were pretty average at this specific thing during pro league; they also bought the event winning flash after a timeout, so the rest don’t matter as much.

If anyone else wants to take a look, I put the raw data in a csv here: https://pastebin.com/YYAiwDiQ. I got rid of the buy info because it’s not really my place to share HLTV’s data. Again, this data came from me just fast-forwarding through the broadcast and trying to catch long breaks or the info panel popping up, so it’s probably incomplete but should be good enough.

So what you’re saying is that if Falcons only ever do partial buys with a timeout beforehand they’ll win everything? That and they’ve got to find a way to be on CT the whole match

Is this data available with a larger sample size?
